thirty eight
Annette: Freezing cold outside, warm Unitarian Universalist church and fireplace inside. Good people, wise words, and fair trade coffee. Total Sunday goodness.
Erin: A much needed dinner with friends, but seriously, I am starting to bore myself.

thirty seven and a thank you
Annette: My super-talented husband and his friend were among the artists in our locale who were awarded grants for their genius last night at a super cool ceremony! I, of course, was the beaming photographer, taking loads of photos of everyone and being thrilled for the impressive array of artists and cultural magnificence happening around these parts! When the night ended, Steven and I arrived home with convenience store goodies and a celebratory agenda of Anthony Bourdain-watching and stuffing our faces, I then realized that there were really no photos of me from the evening! It's a rare thing that...

The End.
I am certain that I will be closing the doors to the Apples for Poppy Anne blog shortly. I have many reasons and perhaps if Typepad were not so expensive and tricky to use I would keep it in the wings for another day, but it is not easy nor is it cheap, so instead I will save the entries I have made and then delete my account. I realize that I have become too edited and have painted myself into a corner in which I don't want to write anymore. My dear friend Rae said a beautiful thing to...

Honestly, I don't think you're boring at all, but I know the feeling. I bore myself constantly. These days are good to look back on when you're feeling so much better so you can really see the blooming. The contrast gives life it's beauty and I'm endeavoring to appreciate how much this year so far has sucked a little (and I don't have a good excuse like being pregnant!)- these dark days will make the bright ones seem to shine even brighter. P.S. You're not boring, did I mention that?

just in case you are feeling discouraged........know that you are inspiring to a lot of people (including me). I can relate to hurtful messages and toxic friendships -- I have so been there. I always like to remind myself "what someone thinks of me is none of my business" -- it helps me from worrying (obsessing) about what people think of me. People who write messages like that live there lives looking for times to bring people down. The truth is -- that person is hurting enough to want others to feel bad too. Being pregnant is hard -- it's monstrous and huge and everyone has to take an inner journey through it. Just feel how you feel and don't judge it. You are in the midst of something so HUGE there is no wrong way to feel it. The blues are appropriate sometimes. Don't let the bastards get you down! Kate

I went to a UU church for the first time this weekend. My main purpose was to see if I could join the bell choir. I was invited to practice next Saturday. Interesting service on forgiveness. One of the first services in any church in my life that I didn't feel uncomfortable. Takeaway message: "Would you rather choose happiness or righteousness?" Powerful.
