As you may have already guessed, this week’s photo challenge is that of numbers. Dates. House numbers. Serial numbers. Numbers with meaning or just pretty numbers. Simple numbers or endless, complex numbers. A group of 3 apples. A pair of shoes. Think outside of the box and interpret this how you like. This whole project is about defining the topics for yourself. Art is all about interpretation and the eye of the beholder.
I love the different ways that house numbers and dates are displayed and engraved on old structures. It makes me wonder what life was like back when houses were full of character and family lived close by. How many garden party invites were inscribed with that particular house number? What dancers performed at the old theater? Who worked in the distillery building before it was turned into a posh art gallery? A movie plays out in my mind full of fancy hats and gentlemen. General stores and old fashioned fun. Simpler times.
Remember to check out last week’s submissions of White and Green at Flickr. Also lovingly blogged at minute musings, a bit of sunshine, a bespoke life, earthy crafty mama, crunchy cursive, listening and laundry, the oh wow chronicles, and escleali. Again, if you would like a link to your blog next week, please leave it in the corresponding comments section.
Remember, this is open to everyone and there is always room for one more!
p.s. "earth's best sundays" will be be posted on Mondays and "it begins with a colour..." will now be posted on Tuesdays.
e.
you don't mind posting Earth's Best Sundays on Monday? I feel bad...

I would love to be joining in on all this fun if I wasn't already so behind on blog posts, shop orders and crafting waiting to be done!

Wow, thanks for mentioning my blog. It's mostly read by my non-commenting family so I'd love some more enthusiastic readers.
Regarding numbers. My current house # is 5-18. We felt reassured when we moved to the house because 18 is traditionally lucky in the Jewish religion. My grandmother used to search for and give me dollar bills with 18s in the serial number. Our new house will be 112. I'm hoping that's also lucky.
I'll look for numbers and try to post a picture this week.
