I have been trying to think of ways to inspire those who need it {myself included} to make creativity more of a priority in daily life and to see beauty in the small things. I have come up with this: once per week {mondays}, I will give any of those who wish to participate, a photographic treasure hunt of sorts. It can be a private experiment or it can be a public affair of your choosing.
I have created a Flickr group for those who have an account {you can get a simple free one easily if you are interested} and wish to inspire others with their interpretations and creations. The group is called "it begins with a colour...". I will add a link to my side bar under pages you may love for any of those interested in posting there. For those who don't have a Flickr account and decide to blog it, feel free to leave your blog address in the comments for others to enjoy! If you do choose to blog it, please link back to this post so that others can join us!
This {of course} is open to all levels of talent and creativity as it is about finding the inner creative and surprising yourself, not about competition.
This week...
I encourage you to find bits of turquoise in your life. Blog it. Admire it. Print it. Photograph it. Paint it. Draw it. Write about it. Colour walls with it. Wear it. Have your children find it. Define it. Sew it. Mosaic it. Paint toes in it. Knit it. Diptych it. Organize it. Or simply witness it.
What did you do with your bits of turquoise?

new to blogging. new to your page. have enjoyed visiting. love the idea. need to learn how to "collage" photos together to create one photo. have just learned how to add text to photos on picnik. any suggestions for creating collages?

I can't believe you chose the color turquoise! In all of your talk about "no coincidences" and my talk about your inspiration helping me, wouldn't you know it, I am a jewelry designer! It is too late for pictures (it's almost 1 am), but I will post the most beautiful strand of turq on my blog tomorrow. Please stop by and see!

love it. Turquoise is my favorite color, and the basis of my wedding. In fact I just sent a link to the photo in this post to my florist because the flowers are perfect for my daughter.
I'll join the flickr group. Fun!
